Wednesday, Fayetteville’s own the Grammy-winning rapper was spotted at the graduation ceremony for Rowan University’s class of 2022. He was there to celebrate the accomplishments of graduate Cierra Bosarge, who is a a die-hard fan whom. This fan met him nearly a decade ago.
Cierra Bosarge , first time speaking to Cole was in 2013, after she called a radio station telling them how much she wanted Cole wish her a happy birthday. Three months passed, at the time high school student received a call from J. Cole, he invited her to meet him in person. When they eventually met up in Philly, Cierra handed Cole a letter she had written for him years prior to meeting.
“In the letter it says all I went through,” she explained at the time. “With being adopted, my parents being hooked on drugs, in and out of prison. At the time both parents were in prison so I asked him could he come to my graduation since they can’t.”
J. Cole told Bosarge he would attend her high school graduation, that is, if she got into a four-year university. She kept her grades up , worked hard and was accepted into college. Two years passed after their meeting, Cole showed up at the Bosarge’s high school graduation to fulfill his promise. But that wasn’t the last time he’d show her his support.
Cole attended Cierra Bosarge’s graduation ceremony at Rowan University in New Jersey. Graduates and attendees shared photos of his appearance on social media. J. Cole kept his promise and showed his true colors by supports fan and keeping his word. We love to see this , and need more people like him. Grateful he is making Fayetteville shine not only through his music but through his day to day actions.
